Dimakatso Blessing Ngoae, known professionally as BlackPearlzSA, is a 25-year-old singer and songwriter hailing from Qibing, Wepener in the Free State.
Specialising in genres like Tribal, Afro-Tech, Afro House, Soulful House, and 3 Step, her musical style is groovy yet sensually deep.
The 2026 Central Music Awards Nominee serves as a spiritual bridge between the rhythmic and the soulful, using bold, vibrant vocals to carry an evocative presence that speaks directly to the heart. Her unique sound has been heavily influenced by legendary vocalists such as Lizwi, Tabia, Toshi, Omagugu, Buhlebendalo Mda, Maleh, and Leomile.
Her musical journey began around 2018 through collaborations with local hometown hip-hop artists like Paddy Brvdish. However, her true calling crystallised in 2020 when a former classmate, Nkosinathi Njuza, introduced her to the music of Lizwi M SA, noting that Dimakatso possessed a similarly powerful vocal tone. Connecting deeply with that sound, she knew instantly that she was destined for this lane.
In 2020, amidst the frustrations of unemployment and the weight of the pandemic, a close friend, Kagisho Nkone, introduced her to the exceptional producer _Bun Xapa_. Recognizing her raw talent during an impromptu audition, Bun Xapa immediately brought her into the studio.
Their collaboration yielded the standout track “Ho Senyehile,” released globally in August 2021 as part of his album *Amasukwini*.
Building on this momentum, she teamed up with Bun Xapa and Portuguese producer DJ Satelite for the hit track “Ulele,” released in December 2022 under the international imprint Seres Produções.
Both tracks achieved worldwide release and significant global club traction. This international exposure led to cross-border alignments, including working with Mozambican producer DJ Drift Franklyn on the July 2024 single “Khanyisa” under _DeepInYourSoulMusic_.
Demonstrating her borderless versatility, she also branched into Amapiano in October 2025, collaborating with DJ Thwenny Eight and Mazz Soul on the joint EP, “Ebumnandini”.
Her latest milestone is the 3-Step anthem “Kganya,” featured on acclaimed producer Dr Feel’s highly anticipated album, iLanga (Sun), released on 26 June.
The song carries a deeply personal and emotional weight. Dimakatso wrote Kganya while crying in the midst of a personal storm. The song ultimately became a source of divine comfort and healing for her own broken heart. Through this release, she prays that listeners find their own healing and restoration of hope.
