A young cricket player from Botshabelo has an opportunity to take his talent beyond South Africa’s borders, but he needs financial support to make his international sporting dream a reality.

Bohlale Moshesha, a learner at Tweespruit Primary School, has earned recognition after being selected for the Mossel Bay Cricket Festival Team of the Tournament. His achievement has opened the door to an opportunity to tour England in June/July 2027.

The selection marks an important milestone in Bohlale’s cricket journey and reflects the opportunities that can emerge when young people participate in sport and dedicate themselves to developing their talents.

An international cricket tour could give Bohlale valuable exposure to the game in a different environment, allowing him to learn from other players, experience different playing conditions and further develop his skills.

However, turning this opportunity into reality comes with significant financial responsibilities.

The England tour costs R67,000, excluding visa expenses. An initial deposit of R7,000 must be paid by 30 October 2026 to secure his place on the tour.

With the deadline approaching, Bohlale needs the support of individuals, businesses, organisations and potential sponsors who are willing to invest in his sporting journey.

For a young learner, an opportunity to participate in an international sporting tour can be a valuable experience. Yet the associated costs can create financial barriers, making support from the wider public important in helping young talent access opportunities beyond South Africa’s borders.

Bohlale’s story presents an opportunity for the people of the Free State and South Africa as a whole to support young sporting talent and help a promising learner take his cricket journey beyond the country’s borders. By coming together, individuals, businesses and organisations can help create opportunities for young athletes to develop their skills, gain international experience and pursue their sporting ambitions.

The immediate fundraising goal is R7,000 by 30 October 2026, towards the total tour cost of R67,000, excluding visa expenses.

Every contribution, whether from an individual or a business, could help bring Bohlale closer to participating in the tour. Businesses and organisations may also consider sponsorship as a way of investing in youth development and sporting opportunities.

How You Can Help

Individuals, businesses and organisations interested in supporting Bohlale Moshesha’s England cricket tour are encouraged to contribute towards his fundraising effort.

For donations and sponsorship enquiries, contact his mother, Dineo Sefuli, on 063 564 5794.

With the deposit deadline fast approaching, timely support could help Bohlale secure his place and continue pursuing his cricket ambitions.

For Bohlale, the journey from Botshabelo to England represents an opportunity to grow as a player, gain international experience and showcase the potential of South Africa’s young sporting talent on an international stage.

With support from across the Free State and the country, this opportunity could become a meaningful chapter in his cricket journey.
