Bloemfontein Civic Theatre Premieres Acclaimed Production 'Whispers of the Veld'
A moving theatrical exploration of heritage, reconciliation, and generational resilience captivates opening-night audiences.
BLOEMFONTEIN — The Andre Huguenet Theatre in Bloemfontein was filled to capacity on Friday evening for the world premiere of 'Whispers of the Veld', an emotionally gripping theatrical production directed by renowned Free State playwright Mapule Sithole.
Set across three generations of families navigating life, loss, and triumph across the expansive plains of the eastern Free State, the play weaves Sesotho poetry, live acoustic cello arrangements, and contemporary dialogue into an unforgettable narrative tapestry.
The production will run for a three-week season before embarking on a provincial school and community centre tour, supported by the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture.
