Big Laz
Hip Hop artist Big Laz is set to showcase his talent on the biggest provincial stage, the Macufe Hip Hop stage. He was part of the lineup revealed during the official launch of the Mangaung African Cultural Festival (MACUFE) on 31 July.
The 2026 Macufe edition will feature both national and Free State artists sharing the stage, and Big Laz is particularly excited to perform at the Macufe Hip Hop vs Amapiano stage, ready to mesmerize the crowd with his talent.
Born Lesedi Sehlabo, the Bloemfontein Hip Hop artist expressed his gratitude to the Macufe organizers for this opportunity, sharing that it has always been a dream of his to stand on such a grand stage. “I’ve been waiting patiently for my chance, and it has finally come. I’m ready and already preparing for a set that will be amazing and one to look out for,” he said.

With over seven years in the music scene, Big Laz has released mixtapes and EPs and aims to create even more impactful music. He described his love for music as a reflective process that encourages introspection and healing: “What I love is the fact that making music forces me to reflect and have introspective conversations with my shadow, which brings healing and a whole lot of inner-standing for myself.”
Regarding his inclusion in Macufe, Big Laz shared, “I feel proud because I have taken so many risks that seemed crazy to those close to me while pursuing this vision of mine. This is definitely a proud moment for me personally. As an artist, it just further solidifies the dream of being a globally recognized artist! Macufe is the biggest stage in Free State, so if I can deliver here at home, I will be able to do so on every other stage around the world.”

He promises a performance filled with high energy and an electrifying atmosphere, eager to give the crowd a memorable experience. “The opportunity has grounded me as an artist because I see that all the work I put in behind the scenes was worth it, fueling my drive to keep working with intensity. The confidence boost will be apparent when it’s show time.”
Once again, Big Laz extended his gratitude to the Macufe organizers for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
