Jika Performing Arts College, together with its partners, including Jika Television Online and Wingo Projects, is thrilled to announce the 8th Installation of Jika International Theatre Dance Festival.

With this festival, Jika Performing Arts College intends to enthuse the Free State Province and Bloemfontein with memorable and explosive annual theatrical activity that radiates excellence, professionalism, and an attempt at self-empowerment.

Jika International Theatre Festival is a journey of hope, happiness, memories, and an attempt at maintaining the necessary existence of theatre.  It is informed by current theatrical activities around the African Continent and the Free State province, as well as the level of sophistication existing among theatre practitioners.

This festival relates the optimism and miracle that characterized the post-1994 emergence of the African Voice. A narrative of many different people, all with their own angers, frustrations, indignities, fears, obsessions, and perceptions; of how these people from so many different perspectives and social backgrounds managed to travel down so many different paths to create a future which we now enjoy and must embrace through this Festival.

JITDF25, will be held in Bloemfontein, Free State Province of South Africa, from 4–7 December 2025 at the Musicon Little Theatre and Civic Theatre.

The theme for this year’s festival will be “Building Creative and Theatrical Connections”. The four-day festival will offer a platform for theatre companies and organizations to showcase their theatre production skills and talent.

Participants will have an opportunity to interact and share skills, experiences with other artists from around the continent and the province.

This year’s installation has companies from Kenya, the Western  Cape, the Eastern Cape, Gauteng, and the Free State.
