The 2025 edition of Lemo Fest has launched with an impressive start. Running from October 3 to 18 at Lemo Green Park in Bloemfontein, the festival kicked off with the Yanos-Hip Hop Show—a battle of genres featuring an impressive lineup including Cityzeen LS, Cassper Nyovest, Distruction Boyz, Usimamane, Kharishma, and Pabi Cooper, among others.

Bloemfontein creative Browdy Brave opened the show, setting high expectations for the performances that followed. Omali Themba and Cityzeen LS, both popular artists from Lesotho, delighted the crowd and had them singing along.

Their collaborative performance featured a standout moment as Cityzeen LS energized the venue with his chart-topping hit “Hohle Ke Lesotho,” which continues to be a fan favorite across both South Africa and Lesotho.

Uncool MC entertained the audience with his dual-role of DJ and MC, creating a lively atmosphere that had everyone dancing. However, the highlight of the night was the dynamic performances from Pabi Cooper and Cassper Nyovest. Pabi, along with her dancers, lit up the stage with infectious energy, captivating the audience with every move.

Cassper Nyovest reinforced his reputation as a top performer, kicking off his set with “Tito Mboweni” and taking fans down memory lane with a medley of his hits, including “Ragga Ragga,” “Baby Girl,” “Destiny,” and “Doc Shebeleza.” The crowd was electric, chanting “Mufasa” in admiration for the legendary artist. His performance only added to the anticipation for his upcoming Fill Up Show in December at the Toyota Stadium, where tickets are already available.

Cassper ended his set on a beautiful note with a prayer, singing a Gospel song, and declaring Jesus Christ as Lord and King.

Kharisma and Jelly Baby added their flair, with Jelly introducing the Pretoria-originating Barcady genre to the Free State audience, while Distruction Boyz lived up to their name, pumping energy into their Qqom set.

Goldmax and Que also made a mark, showing that Qqom still has a place in the Amapiano/3-Step-dominated music scene. Local talents such as Browdy Brave, Peekay Mzee, Finest China, Bina Binnz, Lebo Molax, and Ska-Phace represented the Free State’s artistic prowess brilliantly on the grand Lemo Fest stage.

Attendees are already excited for the 2026 Lemo Fest Yanos-Hip Hop edition. The organization of the event ensured a smooth entrance process, tight security, and continuous fun for all attendees.
