He is often dubbed the King of the airwaves, and when behind the mic, he makes listeners fall in love with him.
Tshepo Johannes Majake hosts the Thakaneng Afternoon Drive show weekly from 15:00-18:00 on Qwaqwa Radio in the Eastern Free State.
Tshepo fell in love with Radio at a tender age. Growing up in Sebokeng, listening to the radio was just a hobby for him, but over the years, Tshepo got to love it so much that he wanted to be behind the mic.
He has been nominated twice in the annual Qwaqwa Radio Awards set for 11 April. Tshepo is nominated in the Best Presenter and Presenter of the Year categories.
Tshepo emphasized that he realized his love for radio while doing grade 5 at Iteboheleng Primary School; there was no television set at his home, and the radio was the source of information and entertainment for them.
“I used to mimic on-air presenters a lot. I will sometimes broadcast alone, but my family kept on supporting my talent, and a lot of my peers did not understand my love for radio. Whenever my teachers asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I proudly told them I wanted to be a radio presenter,” Tshepo said.
