Vanessa Ngoloyi, widely known as DJ Nessa, is making waves in the Bloemfontein music scene. Born in Tweespruit, Free State, she attended Unicom Agricultural Secondary School, where her passion for content creation began to blossom.
From a young age, DJ Nessa knew she wanted to be part of the entertainment industry, but she wasn’t sure how to navigate the path. Her journey into music took root in her church, where she served as a keyboardist. It was within these walls that her love for music deepened, shaping her future endeavors.
In 2022, she relocated to Bloemfontein, diving headfirst into the music scene and gaining valuable insights into the industry. A significant milestone in her career came in 2024 when she organized and hosted the inaugural Galxboy event in collaboration with Cubana Bloemfontein, now known as IZA Bloemfontein.
Her reputation grew as she collaborated with prominent artists such as DJ Tshegu during school tours and shared stages with notable names like Pabi Copper, Focalistic, Oskido, and Kwesta.
DJ Nessa has been featured in major events including Trace, (Ph)Ola, Qhoema Adventures, Red Bull, and the Black Door Experience.
Moreover, she has partnered with brands as a promoter, and her remixes have received significant airplay on Radio Stations.
DJ Nessa isn’t just a DJ; she’s a cultural connector, crafting an atmosphere of fun and energy that resonates with youth culture. Her ability to engage with the audience transforms music into a communal experience that enhances any event.
“I am spiritually gifted through music; I heal myself and the people I play for when I’m on stage,” she shared.
Her captivating performances draw attention and encourage audience interaction, making her a respected name in Bloemfontein. Despite facing personal challenges, including the loss of her mother in 2025, DJ Nessa persevered, continuing to create moments of peace and joy through her music.
Looking forward, she aims to explore and incorporate Gqom and Afrobeats into her sets, promising to keep her performances fresh and exciting.
