Memel Bayern FC from Memel were crowned as the Champions of the Easter Top 8 Tournament held in Memel in the Free State, during Easter.
Mabhena Siyabonga from Phumelela Warriors was the Player of the Tournament, and Lucky Radebe was selected as the Midfielder of the Tournament. Siyabonga Mlangeni was the Top goal scorer of the tournament.
The best Defender of the tournament selected was Zwane Banele from Phumelela Warriors. The Easter Top 8 was hosted by the Memel Youth Empowerment (MYE). The tournament kicked off on Saturday, 4 April, and concluded on Sunday, 5 April, where the ultimate winner was crowned.
MYE is an NPO based in Memel. The Easter Top 8 tournament was a great opportunity for Memel-based soccer teams and players to be discovered, as talent scouts attended and kept an eye out for fresh talent.
The overall winner of the tournament walked away with R5000, and the 2nd- and 3rd-place winners received R2000 and R1000, respectively.
