Palesa Phinda

From a young age, business has always been a part of Palesa Phinda’s destiny. Hailing from Qibing in Wepener, Free State, Palesa is a dynamic entrepreneur who has successfully launched multiple businesses and employed seventy people, actively contributing to the reduction of unemployment in Free State.

Palesa’s business journey began in high school when she started selling snacks and later ventured into selling beer when she returned home. These early experiences provided her with valuable insights into the business world and ignited her passion for entrepreneurship.

“I love the freedom and security that comes with having my own business. It allows me to build a legacy for my family and create job opportunities for the youth,” Palesa expressed.

Her enterprises span across Wepener, Botshabelo, Thaba Nchu, and Bloemfontein, with an ambitious goal to increase her workforce to eighty as she opens new branches, driven by her commitment to job creation.

Managing multiple businesses involves its own set of challenges. Palesa acknowledges the need to balance time and responsibilities carefully, as each business caters to its own clientele and demands.

“As a businesswoman, overseeing businesses in different industries can be challenging, as you also have to balance time and responsibilities. Each business has its own demands and clientele, so staying organized and prioritizing effectively is very important.” Plaesa stated.

Despite the challenges she faces, Palesa remains focused and disciplined. She has fostered strong relationships with her employees and continues to plan strategically for growth.

“I envision my businesses growing into strong and respected brands that will create even more job opportunities. My aim is to expand and leave a lasting legacy, while becoming respected in business,” she shared.

For budding entrepreneurs, Palesa offers valuable advice. “Be passionate and start with something you’re willing to work hard for. Business is not easy, and success doesn’t happen overnight—it requires patience and resilience.” She emphasizes the importance of proper research, wise financial management, and understanding that business money is separate from personal finances.

“Don’t fear failure; it’s part of the journey,” she concluded.
