Rising Botshabelo soccer stars, Onthatile James and Kano “General” Ralekhetla, are currently in Spain as part of the Sim Tour. These talented 14-year-olds from Botshabelo are among the select players participating in the Gateway to Madrid Soccer Tour, where they will play various matches and compete in the prestigious Madcup (Madrid Cup) Tournament.
The Gateway to Madrid Soccer Tour is organized by Sim Tours, a FIFA-recognized match agency in South Africa that specializes in international tours and domestic training camps with professional coaches from abroad. Onthatile James is a student at Setjhaba Se Maketse Combined School, while Kano Ralekhetla attends Seemahale Secondary School in Botshabelo.

Both are in grade 8 and are proud members of the Motloung Foundation Development Academy. During their ten-day stay in Spain, from June 19 to 28, the duo will have the exciting opportunity to play against the development teams of prestigious European football clubs, including Manchester City, Ajax Amsterdam, Barcelona, and Real Madrid, all of which are participating in the tournament.
Thabang Motloung, the founder of the Motloung Foundation Development Academy, expressed that this trip to Spain marks a significant achievement for the academy.
“In just a year of existence, we are already producing excellence. These boys will not only be representing South Africa but also our academy,” he stated.
Scouted during the St. Andrews School Tournament in 2025, James and Ralekhetla are eager to showcase their skills on an international stage. They are determined to represent South Africa with pride and bring their best efforts to the field.
