Malebona Victoria Banyane, an Accounting teacher at Reatlehile Secondary School in Virginia, Lejweleputswa District of the Free State, has made a significant impact in the field of education since starting her career in 2022. Her innovative teaching methods and dedication to her students have quickly established her as a leading figure in academic achievement.
In her first year of teaching Grade 12, Banyane achieved an impressive 87% pass rate in Accounting. Building on that foundation, she has successfully maintained a remarkable 100% pass rate from 2023 through 2025.
Her 2025 students not only achieved this milestone but also secured the top position in Accounting at both the District and Provincial levels, showcasing her exceptional teaching expertise. Most recently, she has once again achieved a 100% pass rate, along with a strong subject average that highlights her students’ mastery and her commitment to excellence.
Since 2023, Banyane has played a pivotal role as a leader in the Professional Learning Cluster (PLC), extending her influence beyond the confines of her classroom. Her leadership has significantly improved Accounting results across Circuit 9, and under her mentorship, many learners have developed into community leaders, with a particular emphasis on the field of Accounting.
Honoring her remarkable contributions, Banyane has recently been appointed as the Departmental Head at another school within the Lejweleputswa District. This new position will allow her to expand her impact further, guiding fellow educators and shaping educational outcomes on a larger scale.
