Bularah Chopo Nominated for the Free South Africa Young Leaders 2025 Awards

Bularah Chopo, from the Bapala Creative Arts Society in Qwaqwa, is thrilled to be nominated for the Free South Africa Young Leaders Awards 2025 in the Sport, Culture, and Environment category.

This talented individual is determined to bring home the award and make the Free State proud. The Young Leaders Awards celebrate and empower South Africans who make extraordinary contributions to business, government, civil society, media, sports, culture, and the environment.

The awards aim to foster a generation of leaders dedicated to positive change in South Africa. Bularah Chopo is a theatre practitioner who has been active in the performing arts for nearly two decades, particularly in theatre.

He is the founder and Artistic Director of Bapala Creatives, which has been offering arts and culture programs at the Riverside Youth Center since 2017.

In addition to his role as Artistic Director, Chopo served as the Stage Manager for the musical production “Dark City.” He has also produced several notable productions, including “Madala,” “Lentsoe,” “Molao Theo,” and “Decisive Clash,” among others.

He currently holds the position of Managing Director at the Riverside Youth Center (Bapala Creative Arts and Services) and was previously an ambassador for the Business and Arts South Africa 3rd Iteration Debut Program.
