On Saturday, 22 November, Nkhethoa Masechaba Mokoena, widely known as the “Botshabelo Florist,” hosted the first event of her new initiative, Mommies Club: Mom’s Time Out.
Held at De Akker Guesthouse in Bloemfontein, the event provided a unique space for women, especially mothers, to reconnect with themselves, share their experiences, and engage in meaningful conversations.
The inspiration behind Mommies Club stems from Mrs. Mokoena’s personal journey as a mother. She explained, “Many women forget about themselves once they become moms, losing sight of their own identity and dreams outside of motherhood. It’s important to create a space where they can reconnect with who they are.”
The initiative aims to offer women a chance to focus on their own well-being while navigating the challenges of motherhood. The event was a safe space for open and opened to difficult discussions, focusing on healing, growth, and empowerment. One of the highlights was the moment when a young mother received a mentorship and business opportunity, enabling her to create a stable financial foundation as she
navigates the complexities of being a young mom in today’s society.

The day’s speakers included Mrs. Jane Mpholo-Mehlape, a creative, mother, and entrepreneur, who led a session on healing and personal alignment. Following her was Florina Fixane, a woman of faith, who shared her insights on understanding one’s purpose through a spiritual lens.
The final speaker, Betty Mocholotsi Mangate, discussed “Mothering with Assurance” and emphasized the importance of mental health for mothers.
This event was a heartwarming blend of personal stories, wisdom, and emotional support, where tears were shed, and burdens were lightened.
