A 42-year-old man Steven Sejakane from Botshabelo has been arrested for the brutal murder of his girlfriend, whose body was found dumped on Dewetsdorp Road early Monday.

The victim’s 32-year-old brother reported her missing after receiving a missed call from her phone at 12:30 AM on June 17. Unable to contact her, he alerted the Kagisanong police.

At 6:45 AM, Bloemspruit police discovered a woman’s body with multiple injuries on Dewetsdorp Road, later identifying her as the missing person.

Investigations led to the boyfriend’s (Steven Sejakane) residence in Phase 2, where the victim’s vehicle was found.

The Parkweg Tactical Response Team arrested the suspect, Sejakane who was found hiding under a bed, after a stand-off.

Community members attempted to attack the suspect, but police safely transported him to custody. Investigations continue.
