The South African and Lesotho music industry is reeling in shock over the untimely death of Lesotho hip hop star Malome Vector (real name Bokang Moleli) who passed away in a fatal car accident that happened on the N1 Road near koppies in the Free State on Wednesday 24 July.
Vector was with his artist Lizwi Wokuqala and crew member Damos who both sadly lost their lives. Other passengers, Puleng Phoofolo and the driver are in critical condition and recovering at the hospital.
There were five people in the vehicle that Vector was traveling on. Three men were declared dead on the scene, and two were rushed to the hospital according to the Free State Department of Health.
The Department of Health further said preliminary facts show that those involved in the accident were driving from the Gauteng side of the N1 towards Bloemfontein.

“The Department is reliably informed that the accident involved some prominent musical artists. Their Managers have been informed and have attended to the scene and the hospital in order to get full details of what happened and who was involved so that the next of kin of those involved in this fatal accident may be decently informed.” Said Health Spokesperson Mondli Mvambi.
Malome Vector’s death continues to send shockwaves around the music industry with his legion of fans still can’t believe his demise. Vector ventured into music at a young age and made a name for himself in Lesotho alongside his friend Ntate Stunna.
He became a household name in Lesotho releasing hits like Ichuu, Bo Ntate ba brewery and the smash hit Nobody which was re-recorded for the South African audience when he was signed by the controversial Ambitious Entertainment.
Vector was signed by Ambitious Entertainment in 2020 after Ntate Stunna recommended him when Ambitious wanted to sign Stunna but he instead led them to Malome Vector and the rest is history.
Malome Vector’s hits, Dumelang, Senatla, Nobody, Long Time, and Ya Costa amongst others continues to be loved across Africa. The Lesotho sensation was not selfish and opened doors for other artists like Lizwi Wokuqala whom he featured on “Ya Costa” which also featured 25K from Pretoria.
Vector showed Lizwi the ropes around the music industry and ensured that he grew and utilized his talent to the fullest.
NB: Ntate Stunna and Wave Rhyder were not with Vector and are still alive.
