Molefe Andries Sekharume, a passionate gospel artist from Marquard, has the mission of continuing to worship and praise through his music. Born and raised in Moemaneng, Free State, he is not just a musician but also a Pastor, devoted father, and successful businessman, serving as the CEO of Leratong Group, a company specializing in building materials.
His musical journey took off in 1999 when he met a mentor who guided him into the music industry, sharing valuable insights into the business aspect of it. Despite being a young school learner at the time, his talent ignited a strong desire to pursue music. Along with friends, he founded a worship group called Pool of Worship, where he served as the music director, relying on his intelligence and spiritual strength.
After leaving the Pool of Worship, Molefe became the musical director for the Mass Gospel group in Soweto from 2008 to 2011. He launched his solo career in 2012 with his debut album, “Lehodimi ke Teroni,” featuring ten successful tracks that solidified his position in the gospel music scene.
His second album, “Siya Kuthandaza Baba,” was released in 2014, followed by “Modimo Oboletse/God has Spoken” in 2016, and “Tlohong re leboge” in 2018. In 2020, he collaborated with artists from KwaZulu-Natal on his album “Ubuhle buka Jesu,” which included contributions from Buhle Ndlangulela, Muzi B, and Putuma Tiso.
Currently, Molefe is working with an emerging artist, Mecry Thulo, aiming to help him release his own album soon. He expressed his commitment to supporting more artists in the Free State, saying, “I’m preparing to help many artists in Free State so that you can see them get this opportunity.”
