Marumo Pheello Justine, known as SirMarkhado da artist, hails from Makeleketla in Winburg and is determined to carve his name in the visual art world.
Born and raised in Winburg, Marumo’s artistic journey began after he completed grade 12, leading him to study Visual Art at Motheo TVET College. His love for art is profound; however, financial constraints prevented him from finishing his studies, but he remains hopeful about returning to complete them.

Marumo specializes in various forms of art, including painting, ceramics, sculpture, and drawing. He draws inspiration from renowned South African artists like George Pemba and Gerard Sekoto. “My aspiration is to be a successful and well-known traveling visual artist like them one day. I want to tell a story through my artwork to inspire young, upcoming artists in my town. My dream is to open an art center, have my own studio and gallery, and leave a legacy for future generations,” he shared.
In addition to his artistic pursuits, Marumo is also a businessman. He owns a small poultry farm where he raises broiler chickens, which is part of his long-term goals. Marumo envisions a future where he can succeed as both a businessman and an artist, blending his passions to create a fulfilling life.
