Makaferly from Wepener aims to put his hometown on the map with his musical talent. He is over the moon following the release of his new single “Qwabalala.” With this track, Makaferly is already creating conversations and pushing boundaries with confidence, authenticity, and unapologetic pride for his hometown.
Born Keketso Kokoropo in Wepener, Makaferly began writing music at just 14 years old. What started as a passion project with school friends evolved into a serious musical pursuit. From performing in primary school to honing his craft during high school, he steadily built a local following.

Makaferly expanded his journey by forming the trio FTB Foreign Tribe, releasing a 14-track mixtape, and performing across the Free State and in Lesotho. His success was further solidified when he claimed victory in a battle of crews competition in Mafeteng, showcasing his impressive stage presence.
In 2020, he shifted focus to his solo career, performing extensively across Bloemfontein, Zastron, Dewetsdorp, and Rouxville. His 2021 debut project, “Local Artistry,” garnered radio play on local stations, marking a significant milestone in his career.

“Qwabalala” reflects Makaferly’s growth, hunger, and deep connection to his roots. Proudly representing Wepener, he continues to build his brand independently while aspiring to expand his reach beyond provincial borders.
