A heart-warming celebration of wellness, appreciation, and self-care took place on Sunday, May, when Serenity Bliss Spa hosted its successful Mother’s Day Treat event in Vlentere, Thaba Nchu, Free State.
The event was dedicated to honouring mothers and women from different walks of life, single mothers, married women, and mothers-to-be who desired a day of relaxation, healing, and pampering.
Founded in 2025 by Kabelo Phakedi, Serenity Bliss Spa focuses on bringing professional wellness services directly into communities through mobile corporate and private massage services.
The Mother’s Day Treat was designed to promote self-care, emotional wellness, stress relief, and community appreciation for women who continuously serve their families and society.
Guests enjoyed a variety of therapeutic treatments, including: Full Body Massage, Neck and Back Massage, and Hot Stone Therapy, to mention just a few of the many services rendered on the day.
Women travelled from across Thaba Nchu and Botshabelo to participate, showing strong community support for wellness initiatives within local neighbourhoods.
The event also received meaningful support from educators, local businesswomen, and community groups who embraced the initiative as more than just a spa experience — but a space for connection, empowerment, and self-renewal.
According to founder Kabelo Phakedi, the main purpose of the Mother’s Day Treat was to remind women that self-care is not a luxury but a necessity.
“Mothers often give endlessly to others, and this event was created to give back to them — emotionally, physically, and spiritually,” Kabelo stated.
Following the success of the Mother’s Day Treat, the business plans to host more community wellness activations across the Free State region.
