Onthatile Moshodi from Thaba Nchu in the Free State is a remarkable young woman dedicated to ensuring that the elderly in her community live in clean, comfortable homes. With a good heart, she has taken it upon herself to volunteer her time and efforts towards cleaning houses for elderly residents who may struggle to do so themselves.
Her initiative, named the “Free Home Cleaning Project,” focuses on providing deep cleaning services without any charge. Onthatile spends hours meticulously cleaning homes, taking care of everything from washing dishes to tidying up bedrooms. Her goal is to assist the elderly and those affected by disability or substance abuse, helping them maintain a sense of dignity and a clean living environment.
“I started this project because many elderly individuals are sick, alone, or simply unable to clean due to age or disabilities,” Onthatile explains. “We clean their homes for free so they can live with dignity.”
Her efforts have not gone unnoticed, as many in the community have praised her commitment to restoring a sense of pride and cleanliness in the homes of those who might otherwise struggle with these tasks. However, Onthatile is currently facing some challenges. To sustain her project, she needs assistance in acquiring cleaning supplies, as she has been funding the initiative out of her own pocket.
Onthatile is seeking donations of necessary cleaning materials such as masks, gloves, bleach, mops, brooms, buckets, uniforms, and T-shirts for volunteers. She is calling on good Samaritans in the community to lend a helping hand so that she and her team can continue their important work.
