Tweeling, Free State – The Sefora Ntombela Foundation brought Mandela Month to a meaningful close by making a positive difference in the lives of learners at Tshidiso Xolane Primary School in Tweeling.
Former Free State Premier Sefora “Sisi” Ntombela, through her foundation, donated school shoes and a full soccer kit to learners, bringing smiles and renewed hope to many children. The initiative forms part of the foundation’s ongoing commitment to uplifting vulnerable communities and promoting the well-being of children.

Speaking during the visit, the foundation reaffirmed that although Ntombela’s term as Premier has ended, her dedication to serving communities remains unwavering. Through the Sefora Ntombela Foundation, she continues to focus on empowering, supporting and protecting women and children across the Free State.
The donation was warmly welcomed by the school community, with educators and parents expressing gratitude for the support, which will help learners attend school with dignity while encouraging participation in sport.
The foundation said Mandela Month should inspire South Africans to continue serving others throughout the year, not only on Mandela Day. By investing in education, youth development and community empowerment, the Sefora Ntombela Foundation aims to build stronger and more resilient communities.
The visit to Tshidiso Xolane Primary School marked a fitting conclusion to the foundation’s Mandela Month activities, reflecting the enduring spirit of compassion, service and hope that Nelson Mandela championed.
