Talented vocalist, BlackPearlzSA, whose real name is Dimakatso Ngoae, has showcased that talent truly runs in her blood. She recently achieved second place in the Free State Rising Stars, a talent show held in Bloemfontein, where she captivated both the audience and judges with her powerful voice and captivating song.
Once on stage, BlackPearlzSA truly owned the moment, even performing an acapella rendition upon the judges’ request, leaving the audience in awe of her raw talent. This achievement has brought recognition to her hometown of Qibing in Wepener.
Specializing in Afrotech, Tribal, Afro House, Soulful House, and 3-Step sound, she expressed to Free State World that her second-place win serves as a reminder of her continuous growth as an artist.
“The last time I performed on a stage was in 2020, as I shifted my focus to songwriting and studio work. When I saw the Free State Rising Stars poster, I decided to challenge myself to overcome my stage fright,” she shared.
During the competition, the Wepener songstress performed an unreleased song, allowing her to reintroduce her brand to her existing fans and reach new audiences. The live feedback from the crowd made her feel like the superstar her friends say she is.
This significant achievement has served as a major boost for the 2026 Central Music Awards nominee, reinforcing her belief in her artistry and motivating her to elevate her performances further.
“Standing on that stage and connecting with the audience without shrinking proved to me that I am unstoppable. If I put my mind to something and believe in it, I can achieve it,” she noted.
As she moves forward, BlackPearlzSA is focused on her Central Music Awards campaign, refining her live set, and preparing for international performances across Africa and beyond.
