El Mhlafu is passionate about modeling and is determined to put his small hometown, Dewetsdorp, on the map.
He aims to demonstrate that hard work and dedication can lead to success, regardless of one’s background. El’s modeling journey began in high school when he participated in pageants. In 2018, he started doing photoshoots after meeting Dheebeatz and Sirr Skiilz.
By 2021, he connected with Adolph Rammutla, who helped him create a professional profile, leading him to take photoshoots more seriously. His dedication to modeling led him to quit alcohol in order to focus entirely on his passion. His first runway casting was for Free State Fashion Week, where he was selected to walk for TVL.
The following year, he showcased designs from Ivy Studio and House of Ole at the Lemo Fest Qoai Fashion Show.

2024 was a breakout year for El Mhlafu, as he participated in radio interviews and appeared on billboards. Once again, he featured in the 2024 edition of the Lemo Fest Qoai Fashion Show, where he was chosen by ten designers, including internationally recognized brands.
“I was thrilled to meet Laduma, the founder of Maxhosa Afrika, and to chat with the founder of Joachim Garments. In November, I walked for seven designers at the Free State Fashion Week, including international designers. I’m proud of my progress and believe that when the time is right, opportunities will arise. I am confident that I’ll become one of the best models to represent the Free State internationally,” El Mhlafu stated.
Looking ahead to 2025, he is optimistic and eager to collaborate with popular designers and brands. El is excited about expanding his portfolio in commercial, fashion editorial, and promotional modeling.
