12-year-old Lesedi Kimberly Morolong represented Free State with pride as she was crowned Miss Mini Teen South Africa and the Face of South Africa Junior during a prestigious national pageant held recently at the Hatfield Arena in Pretoria.
As a Grade 6 learner at St. Dominic’s College, Lesedi impressed the judges with her confidence, discipline, poise, and dedication throughout the demanding competition. The pageant journey tested contestants in various categories, requiring months of preparation, including public speaking, runway training, and personal development before the final crowning moment.
Lesedi is known as one of the school’s hardworking and committed learners, and her achievement reflects her determination and willingness to excel both in the classroom and on the pageant stage.
In an interview with Free State World, Lesedi expressed her joy, stating she was “over the moon” and couldn’t believe it when her name was called. Having been involved in pageantry from a young age, she initially joined to elevate her confidence and bravery.
Winning these titles has empowered Lesedi and helped her overcome self-doubt, allowing her to live with purpose and confidence. She appreciates the opportunity that pageantry provides her to meet new friends and showcase her talents.
Lesedi encourages her peers to always believe in themselves and to chase their dreams against all odds. Fresh from her double-title victory, she is thankful for the support she has received from her family, mentors, and school.
Her achievements now open doors to ambassadorial opportunities, community outreach initiatives, and the chance to represent South Africa on various youth development and modeling platforms.
