Hailing from Thaba Nchu in the Free State, Mosa Refilwe Masisi is a fashion designer with a heart full of creativity and a vision for stylish innovation. Her stunning designs are earning her praise and turning heads in the fashion world.
Mosa’s journey as a fashion designer began in 2020 when she enrolled at Motheo TVET College. It was during this time that her desire to start a fashion company blossomed, leading to the launch of “Mosa’s Wardrobe” in 2022, shortly after her graduation. Her mission is clear: to create stylish custom pieces for women who want to stand out effortlessly.
Every masterpiece she designs reconnects her with her ancestral roots, where her passion is fueled and inspired by the rich history of African culture. Mosa draws on the stories of kings and queens, which evoke her understanding of her own heritage and the diverse beauty of Africa.
Her inspiration stems from her grandfather, a well-known tailor in the Free State, who has instilled in her the importance of craftsmanship. Mosa embodies his words, “I am a farmer by birth, a tailor by profession, and a drunkard by inclination,” putting his legacy into action every day. She stands proud among her family, embodying the truth that “the apple does not fall far from the tree.”
As a full-time wedding designer, Mosa’s creations have already been showcased at the G-Staat Fashion Show in 2023, further establishing her presence in the industry.
Looking ahead, Mosa is committed to creating job opportunities and fostering collaborations within the fashion industry in the Free State. Her goal is to share knowledge about fashion, nurture skills, and ultimately produce quality designs on a larger scale.
