Iphondle Secondary  School wins the Alinah Mazibuko Foundation Schools Sport Tournament

Warden in the Eastern Free State came to a standstill on Saturday 28 October during the inaugural Alinah Mazibuko Foundation Schools Sport Tournament held in Warden.

The tournament was be held at Ezenzelini Sports Ground in Warden and the tournament was open and inclusive of all schools in Warden, school that participated received five pairs of school shoes and packs of sanitary pads.

Soccer, Netball, Chess, and Indigenous games are the sporting codes that were part of the tournament. Trophies, medals, soccer, and netball kits are some prizes that winners took home.

Iphondle Secondary  School won the soccer tournament while Netball winners Hlanganani Intermediate School won the Netball tournament and Warden Public School were the runner up.

“Our goal is to see this tournament getting bigger and next year we are hoping to involve all Phumelela schools, the district, and if it happens, make it a provincial tournament.” said Alinah.
