Botshabelo in the Free State is not only one of the largest townships in South Africa but also a vibrant hub of talent, showcasing music, soccer, poetry, and award-winning individuals. Among them is Jerry “Max” Moeketsi, a talented visual artist who is carving out a future for himself in the art world. His work is gradually gaining recognition from friends and those close to him.
While many people studied art and nurtured their passion over the years, Max has always known that being a visual artist is his destiny. In his primary and high school days, he didn’t focus much on art, but now he is fully dedicated to his craft.
Currently, Max is honing his skills at the Motheo TVE College’s NADA Academy in Bloemfontein, where he is deepening his understanding of visual storytelling and sharpening his artistic abilities. He continually learns, seeks inspiration from fellow artists, and challenges himself as part of his growth.

His impressive visual works are turning heads and earning praise, particularly his self-portraits that capture intricate details and tell compelling stories. For Max, art has been a lifelong passion that defines him; it is an integral part of who he is.
Moeketsi specializes in painting, drawing, and ceramic art. He dedicates about a week to completing a drawing, while painting a piece takes him about two weeks.
His pricing is as follows: R250 for an A4 page, R450 for an A3 page, and portrait work starts at R800 and can increase depending on customer demands. With each piece, Max continues to aim high, driven by his love for art and the creative journey ahead.
