A fuming Mthandazo Lefera, an event organizer, wants his money from Kamza Heavypoint(Kamogelo Wepeng) and Kenny McVital, whom he booked, but allegedly, they failed to pitch for both events.
Talking to Free State World, Mthandazo said he had initially booked Kamza and Kenny McVital to perform at the Kota Fest event on 7 December 2024 he was hosting in Phahameng in Bultfontein in the Free State, but due to unforeseen circumstances, they decided to reschedule for another date.
“I communicated with Kamza Heavypoint regarding the Winter Shandis Night 2025, and it was confirmed, but they did not pitch,” said Mthandazo.
He stated that Kamza sent him a text message at 00:11, allegedly telling him he won’t make it on Sunday, 27 July, while the event was scheduled for Saturday night, 26 July, and Kamza was scheduled for a 00:00 performance.
According to Mthandazo, he paid Kamza R6000 to book him and Kenny, which was paid in R3K’s.

“I sent Kamza R3K on 3 December and later sent him R3K on 7 December to total it to R6K,” Mthandazo added.
The booking was initially for the Kota fest held on 7 December. Free State World is in possession of the event poster.
After allegedly not being able to make it to the Kota fest, the duo were included in the Winter Shandis event to make up for the Kota fest. But after they allegedly failed to pitch for the Shandis event that was held on 26 July 2025, Mthandazo wanted his money back.
He further said Kamza called him on 30 July, apologizing and allegedly promising to refund him by Wednesday, 6 August 2025, but failed to do so, and the duo has since blocked him on their social media platforms and are not taking his calls.
Mthandazo further said he was communicating with Kamza all along, who he booked Kenny McVital via.

A screenshot shared with Free State World shows an alleged conversation between Kamza and Mthandazo, where Kamza tells him that something came up and he won’t be able to make it, and will give Mthandazo a call the following day.
A WhatsApp screenshot sent to Free State World paints a picture of Kenny McVital only getting R2K from the R6K paid.
In an alleged conversation between Kenny McVital and Gomolemo, McVital says, “Honestly, I don’t remember because ke kgale ntjaka mare from the top of my head, I remember R2K if I’m not mistaken that Kamza sent me.”
Mcvital afterwards told Mthandazo to take it up with Kamza, since he sent Kamza the money after Mthandazo asked him if he could talk to Kamza, since the money was sent to Kamza.
Kenny McVital replies
Free State World contacted both Kamza and McVital to offer them a right of reply and sent them questions to answer to allegations we put to them; however, instead of replying directly to Free State World, the duo chose to make statements on their Facebook pages.
Mcvital alerted Free State World to check his statement on his Facebook post as a comment to us, and also told us to check Kamza’s statement, as he was also about to release it.
In his statement released on his Facebook page, the Kunzima hitmaker said he didn’t want to entertain the saga as it was not worth his energy, but it was getting out of hand and went where it wasn’t supposed to go.
“Having a good heart will make people think you’re a fool. We even did a favour for this guy. I don’t remember the exact date of the event, but I think it was last year. We went to that gig, in fact, we were on the way when he told us to go back because people had left. Is it our fault? People went there regardless, did he refund their money too?” said McVital.

He further said a new date was agreed on and the broer (Mthandazo) did not even ask which date would be suitable for them and just decided.
“Let’s be realistic, even if we had to pay that money back, we can’t give you the full amount. What about the expenses we took when we went to your gig and you told us to come back? Which 6K are you talking about? Where is the proof of payment? We asked you to send it a week ago you failed.” Said McVital.
According to McVital, he stated that he won’t be entertaining Mthandazo, and they have lost gigs after Mthandazo made a Facebook post about the duo. McVital asked where they would get money to pay Mthandazo if they lost gigs.
He accused Mthandazo of allegedly giving him an attitude when he texted him asking to talk to him “nicely.”
“I’ve never been into beef with anyone. If you know me, then you know what kind of person I am. I hate seeing other people hurt. We just had to speak and agree on one thing, not go on to social media.” Concluded McVital.

Kamza Heavypoint responds
Kamza made some heavy points in his statement shared on his personal Facebook page and to Free State World. In his statement, Kamza confirmed the Kota Fest booking and said a deposit was paid.
“On our way to the event, my team and I received a call from the organizers of the event informing us that the turnout was low and that we should arrange for another date when the crowd capacity was adequate.” Said Kamza.
He adds further, “When an artist confirms a booking for an event, they are limited in their ability to take any other bookings unless the venues are in close proximity.”
Kamza mentioned that they were forced to reject other bookings that they received in Johannesburg for the same day and that the cancellation resulted in financial loss.

“We suggested to the organizers to either return a portion of their money or find an alternative date for the performance. They agreed to an alternative date. We had already spent a portion of the money on petrol and accommodation.” He emphasized.
Kamza stated that the organizers of the Kota festival (Mthandazo) reached out to him for a Winter Shandis event performance that was a few days away. According to Kamza, they explained to organizers that it was short notice, and they had another booking, and they would try to make it to the event to avoid a second cancellation.
A pre-confirmed event, Kamza had affected the Winter Shandis event, resulting in a delay of his Winter Shandis event performance.
“We informed the Winter Shandis organizers that we will not make it for the performance.” Said Kamza.
According to Kamza, they suggested paying back a portion of the funds that organisers paid or scheduling an alternative event when they will be available, but both suggestions were allegedly denied.
Kamza reiterated that the organizers want a full refund even though they cancelled and is willing to pay back a portion of the deposit as they incurred expenses, and the offer to pay back a portion of the money still stands.
