Puleng Mokoena, hailing from Namahadi in Frankfort, Free State, has just published her beautiful book titled “Matla a Kgetho.”

Mokoena is a mother of four and is happily married. Matla a Kgetho is a Sesotho book containing 14 chapters that aim to share knowledge, empower readers, and encourage intentional living. It highlights the importance of the choices people make.

“People need to consider the consequences of every choice they make, as these may hinder or help their future. When making a choice, it is important for individuals to take responsibility for their decisions. Allowing others to make decisions for you can lead to various social ills, such as gangsterism, unwanted teenage pregnancies, and imprisonment,” says Puleng.

Puleng, who is also a Pastor, emphasized that people cannot mock God; they will reap what they sow. She likens life choices to seeds planted in a garden.

“The fruits you reap in your life, and the kind of life you are living now, result from the good or bad choices you have made. It is never too late to start being intentional and to make choices that will make you proud in the future,” the author stated.

Her inspiration for the book stemmed from becoming a mother at the young age of 17. She was a people pleaser, longing for love, appreciation, and a sense of belonging. After earning her degree from the University of the Western Cape, Puleng developed a fascination with how the human brain is wired and its functions. The book is priced at R250 per copy.
