The South African Union of Spaza Shops (SAUSS) said it stands in full support of the “March and March” movement and its leader, Jacinta Mangobese-Zuma, in calling for decisive national action to protect South Africans and restore order.
The President of SAUSS, Teboho Selelane, affirms that SAUSS supports the call for a State of Emergency Declaration as a necessary and constitutional measure to address the escalating threats facing communities, businesses, and the nation at large.
The Spaza Shop said they and March and March are committed to uplifting South Africa.

“The ongoing looting, criminality, and collapse of law and order in several parts of the country have placed ordinary citizens, small businesses, and township economies under severe threat. Law-abiding spaza shop owners and communities can no longer be left vulnerable,” said the Union President
Selelane adds, “We cannot allow criminality to become the norm. The Constitution gives the President the power to act when the nation is in danger. We urge the Presidency to act now, decisively and lawfully, to protect lives, property, and the future of our economy.”
