Kamohelo Neo Katleho Mosikili has hoisted his school flag high and made it proud. Not only is the 18-year-old the No. 1 learner in Free State when coming to passing his matric, but he is the third-best Quintile 3 learner in the country.
The Selelekela Secondary School learner who passed his matric with flying colours has 100% in four subjects. He is the Free State’s overall top achiever and best Candidate.
Kamohelo received 86% for Sesotho Home Language, English First Additional Language 94%, Mathematics 100%, Life Orientation 100%, Life Sciences 98%, Physical Sciences 100% and Geography 100%.
Mosikili was all smiles and told Free State World that he wanted to pass matric and do well but didn’t anticipate being No.1 in the province, something which caught him by surprise. He added that when he was told that he was attending Minister Angie Motshekga’s well-done function in Randburg, he was emotional and shared the moment with his family.
“I prepared early in the year and focused on my books. I dedicated a lot of my time to my school books and consulted my teachers whenever I needed help. My teachers really helped me and also motivated me to aim for the stars and I am happy that I listened to their advice” Mosikili said.
He will be heading to the University of Cape Town to study Computer Science.
