Marcellino Theodore Jr Mogaecho, a young creative born and raised in Four n Six, Batho Location, is making his mark in the fashion and entertainment scene in Mangaung.
Mogaecho, who still resides in the area where he grew up, is a stylist, fashion designer, fashion model, and co-founder of the clothing brand Rose Boiis. Through his work, he hopes to showcase local creativity and bring recognition to Bloemfontein and the broader Free State.
Growing up in the streets of Mangaung, Mogaecho developed a deep passion for fashion, styling, and modeling, which eventually inspired him to start his own clothing brand.
“I always wanted a clothing brand that would represent my home city, which is known as the City of Roses,” he said.
The idea led to the formation of Rose Boiis, a brand inspired by Bloemfontein’s nickname. Although the brand initially started as a partnership, Mogaecho later continued the journey on his own.
Over time, he managed to build a strong team that continues to support the vision of the brand.
Beyond fashion, Mogaecho has also ventured into event organising with the launch of Afropulse, a lifestyle day event aimed at promoting local artists and DJs in the Free State. The event provides a platform for emerging creatives to showcase their talent while bringing together music, fashion and youth culture.
The upcoming Afropulse event will take place on 29 March 2026, marking the third edition since its launch. Mogaecho says his ultimate goal is to use fashion and events to highlight the talent that exists in his community.
“My dream is to put my city and province on the map through clothing and events,” he said.
Through initiatives like Rose Boiis and Afropulse, the young creative hopes to continue creating opportunities for local talent while celebrating the culture and identity of Mangaung.
