Ntombi Rose Matsoake from Kroonstad in the Free State was crowned as the winner of the Face of Old Time Sake Pageant on Saturday, 7 March, at the Sand du Plessis in Bloemfontein.
This unique pageant required participants to be born in the 70s or 80s and to be plus-sized. In addition to the beauty competition, the event featured performances including Sarafina, ballroom dance, miming, and traditional dancing, all in line with the 70s and 80s theme.
Ntombi is ecstatic after winning the title and also received the Public Relations Award for her enthusiastic interaction with the community.
“My wish is to see more participants born in the 70s or 80s take part in this event next year. I hope the brand gains recognition from sponsors and becomes well-known nationally and internationally,” she expressed.
She extended her gratitude to Maud Mgestic for providing plus-sized women a platform to showcase their talents and passions.
“I am thrilled to have won—it’s a dream come true! I would like to thank the organizers of the pageant and everyone who contributed to its success. I hope this pageant continues to grow and reaches international heights. I’m proud to have been a part of the 2026 edition.”
