Palesa Isaacs-Ratolo from Thaba Nchu has made her mark on the beauty industry by proudly representing her community at the 2026 Mzansi Arts and Media Awards (MAMA) held in Johannesburg. She earned the title of 1st Runner-Up in the Best Nail Technician / Makeup Artist category, showcasing her exceptional talent as one of the top professionals in the country.

Her journey into the beauty realm began in 2017 while pursuing a BCom Law degree at the University of the Free State. Intrigued by makeup and nails, Palesa later pursued formal training at a Johannesburg academy. Inspired by her passion and driven by a desire to excel, she has transformed her love for beauty into a thriving business right in her hometown, PalesaEntle Beauty Spa.

Palesa is not just a beautician; she’s a mentor in her community, offering training sessions to women, empowering them with skills that can help them achieve financial independence. She believes in giving back, ensuring that others can also benefit from the same opportunities she has had.

Reflecting on her recent award, Palesa expressed her surprise at being nominated, acknowledging the validation it brings to her hard work and dedication. She dedicated her achievement to her late mother, who always encouraged her to be patient and assured her that her efforts would eventually pay off. This award, to Palesa, is proof that faith and perseverance yield positive results.

“It doesn’t matter what career you choose for yourself, but if God leads you to a different career, you will shine in that career. I’m really happy as this demonstrates that my mother’s prayers have been answered.”

Her message to young people is one of encouragement, urging them not to give up on their dreams, no matter the challenges they face. Palesa’s brand has become synonymous with quality and care, offering a range of services, from permanent makeup to skincare treatments.

With no initial financial backing, Palesa built her business from the ground up, demonstrating that determination and talent can lead to success. Today, PalesaEntle Beauty stands as a respected name in the Free State, reflecting Palesa’s unwavering commitment to excellence and her community. Her story serves as a beacon of hope and empowerment for many aspiring beauty professionals.
