Boitelo Theatre Production from Thaba Nchu is seeking financial assistance as they prepare to embark on a trip to Qwaqwa to perform their impactful production, “Addicted to Hope.”
Crafted by Bokang Portia Mokhetha, “Addicted to Hope” is more than just a play; it serves as a beacon of resilience, guiding learners towards a drug-free, purpose-driven life. The show is scheduled for 15 and 16 May, and the cast is currently in need of financial support for transportation. They have successfully raised R1200 of the R2800 required to cover these costs.
Founded in 2013 by Leballo Dyke and a group of six dedicated young creatives from Botshabelo, Boitelo Theatre Productions has built a reputation for creating meaningful programming across various artistic disciplines, including dance, drama, literature, and visual arts. Their vision focuses on creating economic opportunities for creatives, and they have made significant progress within their community. Notably, they opened a Thaba Nchu branch last year, led by chairperson Bokang Portia Mokhetha, based at the Mmabana Cultural Centre.

“Addicted to Hope” addresses critical issues like drug abuse and parental neglect. The production has been performed at several schools and venues, such as Albert Moroka High School, Motlatla Primary School, and the Mmabana Cultural Centre Theatre. It was recently selected for the Motswako Art Festival after a successful audition at PACOFS.
