At just 8 years old, Khotsitse Khantsi from Kroonstad has been presented with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and grabbed it with both hands. She shone brightly at the 19th World Championship Dance Federation Competition in Germany, held from July 1-5, 2026, where she scooped the number 1 position twice.
Khotsitse, affectionately known as Khotsi, is a grade 3 learner at Trio Prim and a passionate South African Country and Western dancer. Competing in the Novice Line Dance and Modern Line Dance categories, she impressed judges and audiences alike, winning both categories and making South Africa and the Free State proud.
This competition was Khotsitse’s first time stepping foot in Europe, and it is an experience she plans to cherish forever.
She is now geared up to compete in the upcoming Inter-Provincial Competition set for 6-9 August in KwaZulu-Natal, where she is determined to represent the Free State with excellence.
This chance to compete on an international stage was a dream come true for Khotsitse after tirelessly qualifying in both the Classic and Modern Line Dance Youth categories. With heartfelt gratitude, she thanked her family for their unwavering support, which made her dream of representing her country and province internationally come true.
