28-year-old Thokozani Rampai from Makoane in Comet, Qwaqwa, is making a significant impact through his initiative, MENSET (Men’s Empowerment Network South Africa). With a vision to mentor, empower, and cultivate boys and men into responsible, purpose-driven leaders, Rampai founded MENSET after witnessing many talented young individuals being hindered by a lack of opportunities and support.
A cornerstone of MENSET’s efforts is the Dress a School Child Campaign. This year, Rampai has committed to donating school uniforms to 50 learners at Molapo Secondary School, demonstrating his belief in giving back to the community that raised him. He reflects on his own experiences, emphasizing that he once walked the same corridors and dreamed the same dreams as the current students.
“I wanted them to know that their circumstances do not determine their future, and that someone believes in them,” he said.

The campaign’s success is attributed to the generosity of fellow former learners who stepped up to support the cause. Rampai expressed gratitude to everyone involved, acknowledging their role in helping him realize this vision.
“I sincerely thank each one of them for investing in the next generation. My heartfelt appreciation also goes to my fiancée, my mother, and my little sister for their unwavering encouragement and support, as well as to Mme Molefe, Deputy Principal of Molapo Secondary School, for trusting MENSET to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the learners. When God blesses you, He calls you to be a blessing to others. That conviction inspires everything I do. One principle I live by is, ‘Be good to yourself and those around you.’ Small acts of kindness can change lives, restore hope, and build stronger communities,” he remarked.
