Phomolong-based visual artist Sobi Matsubukanye of Sobi M Art organized an “Open Art Exhibition” for the youth of Phomolong, located in the Free State.

The event took place at the Phomolong Local Library. Young people from Phomolong, particularly those from Hennenman, attended the exhibition to learn more about art and interact with the artists.

The purpose of the exhibition was to showcase a unique collection of artworks that break away from traditional boundaries of art display. It highlighted the artist’s ability to capture the essence of their subjects, creating portraits that are not only visually stunning but also tell a story.

The exhibition aimed to provide a platform for emerging artists to showcase their talents while offering art enthusiasts an opportunity to experience innovative and thought-provoking artworks. Moreover, it sought to raise awareness about the importance of art in our daily lives and its capacity to bring people together.

A variety of art pieces were featured at the exhibition, including oil pastel portraits, scribble drawings, and other mixed-media artworks. Each piece was thoughtfully crafted to convey a message or tell a story, inviting viewers to interpret and connect with the art on a deeper level. One unique aspect of this exhibition was the availability of custom portraits for purchase, offered with a three-month installment payment plan.

This initiative allowed art enthusiasts to own a piece of art that resonates with them while also supporting emerging artists. The exhibition was open to the public, and attendees had the opportunity to engage with the artists, learn about their inspiration and creative processes, and take home a piece of art that speaks to them.

By showcasing art that is both visually captivating and thought-provoking, the exhibition aimed to inspire, educate, and entertain its audience. Overall, the “Open Art Exhibition” celebrated art’s ability to transcend boundaries and unite people. It provided a platform for artists to showcase their talents and for art enthusiasts to experience and appreciate innovative art.
