Capacity Workshop set to strengthen governance, accountability, and transformation

The Free State Legislature is hosting the Members Capacity Workshop 2026, at the Windmill Casino in Bloemfontein from 4–6 February 2026. This annual workshop is a cornerstone of the Legislature’s commitment to strengthening governance, accountability, and transformation.

Members are engaged in intensive sessions designed to sharpen their leadership, oversight, and parliamentary skills in line with evolving democratic and digital demands.

Members of the Free State Legislature are exploring various topics such as ethics, conduct in the House, and Oversight functions.

FS SALGA Chairperson will present on “enhancing structured relations between SALGA Free State and the Free State Legislature” as well as the status of municipalities report.

The Legislature’s Digital Team will unveil the digital migration and roll‐out plan, underscoring innovation in legislative processes.

The final day of the workshop will focus on proposed amendments to Standing Rules and Orders. The Auditor-General of South Africa (AGSA) will present on oversight of public finance and audit findings.
