Making people laugh is Tumelo Isaac Mohlokoane’s specialty. The talented comedian from Botshabelo in the Free State is poised to have local residents laughing so hard that their stomachs will hurt.
Known as Coldfire, he will now host his own comedy segment on Free State World every Thursday at 07:30. The segment is titled “Free State World Comedy with Coldfire.” After making an open call to all comedians for this slot, Coldfire was the first to respond with a submission that was so hilarious it left the Free State World team eager for more.
Michael Tamelinth, the Editor of Free State World, expressed the newspaper’s commitment to showcasing local talent and amplifying its voice on a national platform. “We are thrilled to have Coldfire sharing his incredible talent with our audience. He needs no introduction, as his ability to make people laugh has been evident for years. Comedy comes naturally to him. He has shared stages with renowned comedians like Mashabela, Chris Mapane, David Kau, and Mashabela Galane. We are excited to provide him with this platform to showcase his talent and foster his growth,” Michael stated.
ColdFire began his journey as a talented poet. Poetry was his first love, and he often cracked jokes before performing, which the audience enjoyed. This sparked his discovery of his hidden comedic talent.
His first performance as a comedian came unexpectedly during the Botshabelo Street Art event. Although comedy was listed on the event poster, no one had signed up to perform. Coldfire seized the opportunity and gave it his all, captivating the audience.
This gifted performer travels throughout the Free State and has also performed in other parts of the country and in Lesotho.
