Theunissen rapper Nine Four Dagger is excited to bring his fans back to 2001 with his new album titled “2001.” The album will be officially released on Sunday, 13 July, and is packed with potential hits.
Following the success of his 2024 mixtape “Life of Kasi,” which featured raw stories about his experiences growing up in Theunissen, Free State, “2001” is expected to make waves on the streets and propel Dagger to stardom.
Dagger, a 24-year-old from Masilo in Theunissen, comes from a humble background that helped him avoid the rough path many of his peers faced, often leading them into a life of crime. However, music has always been his calling.

After completing his matric, Dagger moved to Kroonstad to further his education at Flavius Mareka TVET College, where he discovered a music studio in Dinoheng in 2023. SoulK Records welcomed this young and energetic artist, leading to collaborations on several tracks, including the popular “Nka Le Busa” by Princess Kasumi.
“2001” captures the reality of Dagger’s musical journey, telling stories from his hometown of Masilo. The album highlights the challenges young men face in relationships while also celebrating the successes along the way.
The album is produced by Henecbeatz, the executive producer and partner at SoulK Records, and features talented keyboardist Seun Lebina from Kroonstad.

Artists featured on the album include Pronto VTR, LosYung Saint, and Quatro Czn, all from Theunissen, along with Dagger’s labelmates Princess Kasumi, Jamal Blaq, Khulumthii, and Catsby Kay.
On 12 July 2025, Nine Four Dagger will officially launch his album at Madamareng in Masilo and in Kroonstad. The lineup for the launch event includes DeeF, Star Jay, Insane, Smiggie Banks, SLVY, Princess Kasumi, Jamal Blaq, and Khulumthii.
