Kabelo Hlobelo, a 29-year-old from Botshabelo in the Free State, is seeking help to overcome his drug addiction.
Kabelo first experimented with crystal meth in 2020 and became an addict in 2022. Crystal meth is a highly addictive and dangerous drug. He admitted that he started using drugs due to peer pressure and has found it difficult to quit.
Kabelo is a passionate, budding content creator with a keen interest in movies. He aims to eliminate drugs from the streets by sharing stories from the Kasi community. He owns a YouTube channel called Massive Creatives Visuals.
Reflecting on how he became addicted to crystal meth, Kabelo explained that he initially used the drug due to peer pressure and being surrounded by other users. Over time, he started relying on it to escape reality.
He stated, “Life seems easier when I’m high, and I use it every day.”
Now, he is tired of the lifestyle and wants help to quit. He mentioned that overcoming drug cravings is challenging and that he truly needs assistance.
“I have tried to quit on my own but have failed multiple times since January 2024. I need rehab, especially at Ladgag, because I am always inspired by their videos on Facebook. My hometown environment has harmed me,” Kabelo shared.
He noted that he no longer lives life normally; his career and passion for filmmaking are suffering as he struggles to put in enough effort. He feels demotivated, especially since his family has lost faith in him, and his addiction has affected his role as a father to his 5-year-old son.
Kabelo is reaching out for help and is asking anyone who can assist him to do so, as he wants to regain his former life.
