Khanyi the Unique-Con, part of the 21st Century Tech Geeks initiative, recently held a workshop at the Tweespruit Library in the Free State. The focus of the workshop was on digital literacy and anti-bullying, attracting 30 enthusiastic children aged 7 to 12.

The team’s dedication to education and community development is apparent in their work. They believe that every child deserves the opportunity to thrive in today’s digital world and are committed to equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge for success.

The children were divided into groups and learned about various types of bullying, including verbal, physical, and cyberbullying. They participated in interactive activities, such as role-playing and games like “Don’t Drop the Bully,” which helped teach them about empathy and teamwork.

The workshop also featured special guests Morwaneng Moseme and her colleagues, who joined the 21st Century Tech Geeks team to facilitate the activities. Their contributions significantly enhanced the event, resulting in a comprehensive learning experience for the children.

Zanele Ndiwa made a special appearance to offer the team well wishes, demonstrating her support for the initiative. Additionally, Lerato for General provided delicious meals for the children, ensuring they were nourished and energized throughout the workshop.

The children gained valuable insights into digital literacy, learning how to be safe and responsible online. They also explored the importance of kindness, respect, and empathy in their interactions with others, both online and offline.

The 21st Century Tech Geeks team, consisting of Portia Moleme, Tsholofelo Mokhothu, and volunteer Vusi Ngophe, worked tirelessly to create a fun and engaging experience for the kids.
