Lerato Molehe AKA Lerato Ratos (38), an entrepreneur from Qwaqwa in the Free State, is aiming high.
He is the creative force behind Ntja Mme, a clothing brand that blends street style with African culture. Founded in 2012, the brand was born out of Molehe’s desire to create something unique, using a dog as the logo—symbolizing loyalty and strength.
The name Ntja Mme gives the brand a proudly local flavor. At first, Lerato never took the brand seriously, but late last year, he decided to focus on building the brand and taking it seriously.
“I never took it that seriously at first, but late last year, I decided to focus fully on building the brand. Through Ntja Mme, I want to represent our African culture and create jobs for our people.” He stated.
The brand offers a range of merchandise, including coffee mugs, beanies, bucket hats, round neck and golf T-shirts, socks, caps, tracksuits, sneakers, and hoodies. All branded with the Ntja Mme name and logo.
Operating from QwaQwa, Soweto, and Pretoria, Ntja Mme Clothing also offers custom branding and printing services at affordable prices, catering to both trendsetters and followers.
Ntja Mme aims to be a vocal member of the community by supporting local initiatives and reinvesting through participation and financial contributions.
Lerato envisions Ntja Mme not just as a fashion label, but as a movement that uplifts and inspires. By combining cultural pride with entrepreneurship, he hopes to spark change and opportunity across townships.
