Dedication, perseverance, and hard work have finally paid off for MC Fire real name Zweli Mphumele who won a massive recording deal that’s about to change his life.
MC Fire who has been in the music industry for over 20 years releasing hits after hits, won the demo competition sponsored by Gallo Music held in partnership with the Free State Music Association.
He was announced as the winner at a media briefing held on Wednesday 6 March at the Civic Theatre in Bloemfontein, Free State. The Chairperson of the Free State Music Association Ayanda Roda said they will support MC Fire and be with him every step of the way.
Explaining the recording deal competition, Roda said 100 songs were submitted which were slashed to the top 20 songs, then the top 10 and top 3 which consisted of Cfikulture from Botshabelo, Password from Qwaqwa, and MC Fire.
Gallo Music Committee selected the winner and oversaw the entire process.
“We are very excited to announce our winner for the Gallo Record deal which is MC Fire from Botshabelo, and we wish him nothing but the best as this is a life-changing opportunity.” Said Roda.
MC Fire tried his best to hold back the tears, grateful for the opportunity afforded him to change his life. He has performed in major festivals and has been praised for his ability to release hits consistently.
“I want to thank the Free State Music Association and Gallo Music for this opportunity. I want to thank all the guys I worked with, my producers, and the artists I featured in all my songs. The Free State artists I worked with, I am going to do my best to open opportunities for them too.” Said MC Fire.
