Thaba Nchu actor, Riaano Jonathan, is excited to announce his cameo role in the hit telenovela, The Outlaws. This popular show, airing on Showmax and part of DStv’s African streaming platform, has captivated audiences since its premiere in August 2023, earning numerous awards and millions of views.
Set against the backdrop of a feud between the Basotho and Zulu people along the Lesotho and KZN border, The Outlaws features Sesotho and isiZulu as its official languages. In Season 2, which started airing on November 18, Riaano joins the cast as a member of the Basotho gang, portraying a role as Tladi’s soldier.
For Riaano, being part of The Outlaws is a dream realized. He expressed his admiration for the talented actors such as Thembinkosi Mthembu, Lehlohonolo Mayeza, Thandolwethu Zondi, Katleho Mobote, and Mamodibe Ramodibe, who all inspire him. The experience has been monumental, allowing him to witness a state-of-the-art production and interact with his idols in the industry.
“Being there for me was also educational. I learned a lot about aspects I hadn’t focused on as an actor. Being on TV motivated me immensely, and I want to share my journey with every South African. If you want to be on TV, work hard, prepare yourself, learn, and don’t be afraid to ask,” he stated.
This role marks Riaano’s second cameo on television; he previously portrayed Mr. T in SABC 2’s Muvhango and a doctor in Empini Season 2. His journey in the industry is just beginning, and he’s eager to make an impact in South African television.
