Siwelele FC has officially parted ways with CEO Stan Matthews and Assistant Coach Andre Arendse, as announced by the club’s chairman, Calvin Le John, on Sunday, 21 September. This decision comes amid serious concerns for their personal safety, with Le John stating that both Matthews and Arendse faced daily threats to their lives and families.

In a move to stabilize the club, Siwelele has appointed Lerato Kholoanyane, a Botshabelo native and member of Gayton Mckenzie’s Patriotic Alliance, as the Acting CEO.

Le John expressed confidence in Kholoanyane’s abilities, citing over 10 years of working together and her deep connection to the province, emphasizing, “I know she will serve this team thoroughly.”

Additionally, Willem Jackson, a former player for Bloemfontein Celtic, Orlando Pirates, and Bafana Bafana, has been named the new assistant coach, taking over from Arendse.

Le John also mentioned plans to enhance the team’s roster, indicating that they would be signing five to six new players to strengthen the team.

“We noticed and we know that it needs strengthening,” he added.
