Palesa Phinda, the owner of Midnight Oasis, is unhappy with Skeem Saam actor Patrick Seleka, who portrays Katlego Peterson in the SABC youth educational drama. In addition to his acting career, Patrick is also a DJ known as DJ Khathapila.

Palesa booked Patrick to perform at her establishment in Wepener, Free State, on Sunday 20 April. However, he allegedly arrived intoxicated and was late for his set.

According to Palesa, she paid R9000 to book Patrick and spent R1000 on accommodation. Patrick allegedly arrived in Wepener around 15:30 and alerted her. He was initially supposed to stay at a bed and breakfast but was allegedly unhappy with the B&B and was subsequently taken to a guesthouse to better accommodate him.

Palesa noted that Patrick complained about the B&B she first booked for him, claiming that the single beds were too small to fit himself and his girlfriends. Following this, he was moved to a guesthouse.

Palesa mentioned that she had paid Patrick in full and expected him to arrive on time for his performance, which was scheduled from 1:00 AM to 2:00 AM. However, he allegedly only showed up at 1:45 AM.

“He arrived with a group of girls from Wepener, which made me believe he had been out with them all day drinking,” Palesa alleged.

She claimed that the girls attempted to cause chaos in the VIP section and insulted her when she asked them to leave, as it was reserved for the Skeem Saam star and his companion from Pretoria.

Palesa further alleged that Patrick followed the girls when they were asked to leave the VIP section. She accused him of being disrespectful when he went on stage and tried to force the DJ to stop playing, demanding that he play instead.

“He claimed that he arrived on time but struggled to get inside, which didn’t make sense since he had my contact numbers to reach me if he had any issues. He insisted on performing by force because the club was full because of him,” Palesa emphasized.

Ultimately, Palesa had to instruct her staff to stop Patrick from playing, as he was late, and his scheduled time had already passed. She stated that DJ Khathapila was supposed to wait for the other DJs to finish their sets or communicate with her to resolve the situation since he allegedly arrived late. Instead, he  allegedly wanted things done his way.

Palesa is seeking a refund of the R9000 she paid Patrick, asserting that he did not deliver the service he was booked for. It is alleged that Patrick is refusing to pay the money back.

In a voice note that Patrick allegedly sent to Palesa, he angrily stated that she would not be receiving any money and that she could do whatever she wanted, but he would not pay her a cent.

Palesa feels that Patrick has disrespected both her and her establishment.

Free State World sent a media inquiry to Patrick for a comment  on his Whatsapp and to afford him a right of reply, but he did not reply at the time of publishing this story.
