Fill up our empty pockets! Cassper Nyovest’s fill-up Toyota Stadium show in Bloemfontein was a huge success, drawing 30500 people in attendance.
The event also created temporary jobs, and 6 December 2025 was the date people in the Free State looked forward to. However, some of the interns who worked in the hospitality department at the show are still waiting for payment, a month after the event ended.
The interns said they were hired, signed the contract, which allegedly didn’t have an amount on it, but it was only their banking details and personal details that were wanted.
They alleged that when they asked about the empty part where an amount was supposed to be inserted, they were allegedly told that the part would be dealt with later.

The interns alleged that they were hired by Lerato Rampana, who allegedly oversaw the hospitality department for the show.
“The contract said it would take 14 working days after the event, which was on 6 December 2025, yet still no payments have been made, and we heard and have proof that some got paid. Some didn’t get a cent, while some were not paid in full,” said one of the interns.
According to the interns, it’s alleged that over 100 interns are still waiting for their pockets to be filled, but no answers from Lerato Rampana, only silence.
A WhatsApp screenshot sent to Free State World, allegedly sent by Lerato Rampana to the interns’ WhatsApp group, blames the sponsor’s delay for the interns not getting their money.
The WhatsApp screenshot further reminded interns that the fill-up Toyota Stadium event was a private event and not government-funded, as the Free State government allegedly failed to support it and asked for more patience from those owed.

The interns don’t know how much they will be paid as the amount was not mentioned to them, but all they want is their money.
Another intern who spoke to Free State World confirmed to Free State World that she is still waiting for her pockets to be filled.
Free State World contacted Lerato Rampana for a right of reply and sent her questions to share her side of the story on Thursday, 15 January. But Lerato did not reply to Free State World.
However, on Friday, 16 January, interns told Free State World that their banking details were sought, giving them hope that they would be paid, but their pockets are still empty.
